5 Ways to Celebrate Galentine’s Day in the North East

Galentine’s Day, celebrated on February 13th, is all about celebrating friendship! Unlike the traditional valentines day, this day wasn’t founded out of commercialism but rather from a TV show. In Parks and Recreation, Leslie Knope and her gal pals gather every year for brunch because, as she says, it's about "ladies celebrating ladies." And the rest is history!

So, why not gather your besties and show them some love with these fun, feel-good ways to celebrate Galentine’s Day? Here are 5 ways to celebrate Galentines Day in the North East.

1. Brunch with the Besties this Galentines

Take a cue from Leslie and round up your closest friends for brunch. Nothing beats gossiping over pancakes, eggs benedict, and cocktails! Find a cosy local café or host your own brunch at home with homemade waffles and fruit platters. If you are looking to venture out, one of my favourite places to visit for brunch in the North East is All Bar one on Grey Street Newcastle they even do a Bottmless Brunch my kind of heaven.

2. Spa Day for Ultimate Relaxation this Galentines

A spa day is the perfect way to relax and recharge with your girls, this is my kind of heaven. You could book one that includes massages, facials, or simply enjoy the saunas, steam rooms, and swimming pool. It’s the ultimate self-care bonding experience! I would highly recommend the Elemis Escape at the Ramside Hall

3. Take a Fun Class Together this Galentines

Try something new and exciting! From cocktail-making and pottery to dancing or floristry, there are lots of workshops to choose from in the North East, one of my favourites would be a Lino Print Workshop such as this one.  Learning a new skill together is a fun way to create lasting memories.

4. Give Back with Volunteering this Galentines

Celebrate Galentine’s Day by spreading kindness. Volunteer at a local shelter or charity—helping out at a food bank such as The Peoples Ktichen or serving dinner to those in need can be an incredibly fulfilling way to spend the evening. You and your friends will leave with full hearts, knowing you made a difference.

5. Host a Cosy Girls’ Night In this Galentines

Throw a grown-up slumber party and go all out! Rent a cute cottage or stay home in your comfiest pajamas. Plan a night of rom-coms, homemade cocktails, pamper sessions which could include face masks such as this collection, and a foot pamper with this Epsom Salt Foot Soak. It’s the perfect way to relax and connect with your besties.

No matter how you celebrate, Galentine’s Day is all about cherishing the amazing friendships in your life. I'd love to hear if you choose to Celebrate Galentine’s Day with any of these ideas in the North East, drop them in the comments.
